Psychoeducational Evaluations

When children are struggling in school, it is important to understand the root cause. Psychoeducational evaluations may be appropriate for some families with very targeted questions about a child’s learning. They involve assessing an individual’s intellectual and academic abilities as well as aspects of mood and behavior. Such evaluations can answer targeted questions and provide recommendations related to potential learning disabilities or need for academic or behavioral accommodations.

They typically involve 4-5 hours of testing and include an initial consultation (which can be done via telehealth), record review, a single feedback session, and a report. The fee is $3800. There is no charge for collaboration with schools or other providers, although attendance at school meetings involves a charge of $300/hour.

You can also contact your child’s school about doing one of these evaluations.
