Specialized Therapy

In today’s world, there are growing numbers of children, teens, and young adults who feel limited by their anxiety and depression symptoms. This is especially true for those whose brains work differently. As a board certified neuropsychologist and clinical psychologist, Dr. Baum offers a unique lens and skillset in the individual therapy she provides primarily to adolescents and young adults with neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, autism, learning differences) and neurological diagnoses. She takes a strengths-based and solution-focused approach to care, thinking holistically about the individual and what they can draw upon to move them toward a future they value. While her background is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), she also incorporates acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) approaches and mindfulness-based techniques.

Her therapy slots are limited, but you are invited to contact our office to inquire about availability and appropriateness.

In addition to traditional therapy, she also offers an evidence-based treatment of management of ADHD symptoms and co-occurring anxiety and/or depression. The skills-based intervention is shown to reduce symptoms of ADHD by targeting key areas including organization and planning, managing distractibility, cognitive restructuring, and procrastination. Progress is monitored regularly and the treatment typically involves 12 weekly sessions, depending on individual needs and progress throughout. The initial consultation is $250 and weekly sessions are $200 for the 50-minute session.
